Bill Radicchi

William T. Radicchi, 53 of Sanibel, and formerly of Binghamton, N.Y. passed away peacefully on March 8, 2009 surrounded by his family at Hope Hospice in Fort Myers after a courageous three-year battle with Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. He was predeceased by his parents, Rose and Ettore Radicchi, and his beloved son, Joel W. Radicchi.

Bill is survived by his loving wife, Andonetta, and his daughter, Gina Rose, the light of his life. Also surviving is his sister Virginia (David) Gooding of Endwell, N.Y., and his two brothers Joe (Petie) Radicchi of Cape Coral, and Michael (Laura) Radicchi of Valrico, Fla. In addition, Bill is survived by his step-mother Nancy Radicchi; step-brothers Lynn Shultis, Robert Shultis, Terry Radicchi, Don Radicchi and Doug Radicchi, mother-in-law Doretta DiFulvio, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Rosella and Robert Stalker, Lola and Michael Walsh, Annetta and Dennis Cobb and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Bill retired in 2004 from the City of Binghamton Fire Department after a 27 year career as a firefighter/paramedic. Realizing his dream to live on the water, Bill and his family moved to Sanibel, where he was employed by Island Management as Resident Manager for Mariner Pointe Condominium Association.

Bill was a man of many talents and in his short life he accomplished a great deal. He touched the lives of everyone he met. His love for family and friends was unconditional. People were drawn to his warm, loving and genuine personality. Bill's passing has left a void and he will be greatly missed. It was a privilege to know him.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses at Florida Cancer Specialists of Fort Myers, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center and Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Fla. Dr. Mary Stegman and the wonderful staff at Hope Hospice in Fort Myers, who saw to it that Bill's final days were peaceful and helped his family cope with their loss.

A special thanks to family and friends who have been so supportive during Bill's illness.

A memorial mass will be held on March 20 in Binghamton, N.Y. A memorial mass will also be held at St. Isabel Catholic Church, 3559 Sanibel-Captiva Road, on Saturday April 4 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established by the residents at Mariner Pointe Condominium for Bill's daughter, Gina Rose, for her education.
