Caring for and about wildlife

September 8, 2010

To the editor,

Last week, I had the honor of speaking on behalf of CROW at the Kiwanis Club breakfast meeting. There was an article placed in last week's newspaper by the Kiwanians which said that CROW has treated 284 patients this year. That was actually the number of patients in our clinic at the time of the Kiwanis meeting.

Today, there are currently 271 patients at CROW covering 49 different species. So far this year, our staff, students and volunteers have treated over 3,500 patients and we are on pace to exceed last year's patient total of 4,219. Our current patient count includes 165 birds, 88 mammals, 17 reptiles and one amphibian.

The CROW Wildlife Clinic is open seven days a week, 365 days a year and we appreciate all the support we get from our local community. You help us make a difference in the lives of our wildlife neighbors and help us teach people of all ages to care for and care about wildlife.

If you find sick, injured or orphaned wildlife, please call us at 472-3644.
