Lions thank participants, sponsors of 13th Annual Charity Golf Tournament
January 19, 2011
The Sanibel-Captiva Lions Club would like to thank all of the participants and sponsors for their fantastic support and turnout at the 13th Annual Charity Golf Tournament for charity. The event was hosted by the Beachview Golf Club on Jan. 9.
The format was a four-person team handicap tournament. Three drives were required per player.
“We had a great turnout and many, generous donations from our sponsors,” said Bruce Cochrane, the event chairman. “And, of course, the weather was great this year.”
Luncheon, prizes and raffle were held at the Beachview Steakhouse immediately following golf. All money raised at the event will go toward approved Lions charitable causes, such as preventing blindness, educational scholarships and helping people in need.
“We are very grateful for all the contributions,” Cochrane added. “We can definitely tally this up as yet another success.”
Prizes for the event were donated by the Beachview Golf & Tennis Club, Beachview Steakhouse & Tavern, Billy’s Bike Rentals, Green Flash, Hungry Heron, Island Pizza, Jacaranda, Jerry’s Foods, Lighthouse Café, Schnapper’s Hots, Shell Point Golf Club, The Stone Crab, Timbers Restaurant & Fish Market and Twilight Café.
