Jeane (Jeanie) Wittman, 83, a long time
resident of Sanibel Island, Fla., and Cape
Cod, Mass., passed away on Sunday, Oct.
14, 2012, and went to be with the Lord
after a brief illness in Fort Myers, Fla.
Jean was born on Oct. 24, 1928, in
Brewster, Mass., to Howard & Flora
Dunnells. She was a graduate of the prestigious
Wheaton College in Norton, Mass.
Jean married Alfred Wittman and they traveled
the world extensively until Alfred's
passing in 1985. After his passing she continued
her travels with dear friends and had
many wonderful memories of her trips.
Jeanie lived life to the fullest. She was an
active member of the Sanibel Community
Church. Her greatest joy in recent years
was spending time with her son and daughter-
in-law, Jeffrey and Debbie, who moved
to Sanibel to be close to Mom. She was
truly the life of the party, always upbeat and
smiling and will be missed by all who knew
her.
Jean is predeceased by her daughter,
April. Jean is survived by her beloved son
and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Wittman and
Debbie, her brother George, many nieces,
nephews and friends and her dog Ripley.
The family will miss her wonderful nature,
love of adventure and fun loving spirit.
A Celebration of Life for Jean will be
held at the Sanibel Community Church,
1740 Periwinkle Way, on Sanibel on
Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at 11 a.m.
