Bailey's General Store to host '2xl' -Pint for a Pint Blood Drive

Event set for Friday, July 5, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Bailey's General Store and the Lee Memorial Blood Centers have teamed up to help combat July blood shortages. Bailey's General Store will be hosting the Lee Memorial Bloodmobile unit in a "2X1" Pint for a Pint Blood Drive on Friday, July 5, at their location at 2477 Periwinkle Way, Sanibel FL 33957. The drive will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m

Those who donate a pint of blood will receive two pints of Queenie's Real Homemade Ice Cream, free T-Shirt and vital health checks at no cost. You will be checked for the following:

Pulse Rate

Blood Pressure

Body Temperature

Hemoglobin (iron level)

Blood Type

Cholesterol level

At Lee Memorial Health System, donated blood goes to help save the lives of patients at community-owned hospitals: Lee Memorial Hospital, HealthPark Medical Center, Children's Hospital of SW Florida, Gulf Coast Medical Center and Cape Coral Hospital. In addition to the five hospitals, our blood center also services the Level II Trauma Center at Lee Memorial Hospital and the new Regional Cancer Center at the Sanctuary.

To donate blood you must:

Weigh at least 115 pounds.

Be at least 17 years old, 16 years old with parental consent

Be in general good health -no colds, flu, sore throat, etc.

Photo 10, with DOB, if new donor.
