Trent Peake has joined the Sanibel Captiva Chamber of Commerce in a newly created position of Member Services Manager.

Peake hails from Louisville, Kentucky, and has a bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management from the University of Kentucky. His previous experience includes the insurance industry and extensive customer service and hospitality management assignments within the Hilton group of hotels. He has long established family ties to Florida: his parents David and Connie Peake live in The Villages and Trent is looking forward to entertaining them on Sanibel.

The Member Services Manager role was recently created by the Chamber of Commerce following a review of roles and responsibilities within the chamber. The very high retention rate of Sanibel and Captiva members -- over 90 percent -- means that the focus going forward will be on ensuring that members are getting the best from the chamber. Peake's role is to understand the business needs of its members and review the services the chamber is currently offering them. He has already been to see more than 50 chamber members and is looking forward to getting to see a significant number by the end of the year.

"We are delighted that Trent has joined the Sanibel-Captiva family" said Ric Base, chamber president. "His established customer service skills and in-depth knowledge of the hospitality industry will enable him to make an immediate contribution to our members who can expect to see Trent regularly out and about on both Sanibel and Captiva."

His key responsibilities will be to maintain close relationships with all members, keep himself fully informed of members' expectations from the chamber and coordinate and manage all of the chamber's member centric programs.

"I was delighted to have been offered the position at the chamber" said Peake. "I wanted to be closer to my parents in Florida and when the opportunity arose with the Sanibel and Captiva Chamber, I jumped at the chance. Everyone I have met, both in business and outside of work, has been exceptionally friendly and welcoming. Sanibel and Captiva are very special islands and to be able to work at the chamber is a true honor."

Trent Peake is available on his direct line, 472-8255, and at membership@sanibel-captiva.org.
